And the feeling of unease intensified as Rafael, the newest member
of the Pack, bounded through the underbrush in his wolf form and skidded
to a halt in front of the panting foxes.
The young wolf pauses in embarassment, and then plows ahead.
"Sorry to interrupt, Pack Leader," Rafael yips. "But Carradene has found
something terrible! Manbear Synizn's chamber was empty, and he's nowhere
to be found!"

"……and when I came in to see why he hadn't come for our daily chat I
found his room in disarray and his magic mirror shattered!" Carradene says,
pacing. There was real worry on the old wolf face for the taciturn former
dragon and the gray furred manwolf magi had become brothers…..just like
the rest of the Pack……each and every member was now a dear brother and
sister. Fred himself was worried by the signs of mayhem about him.
"It's almost like a magical spell had went wildly wrong," Carradene
continued, pointing his staff at the mess. "But the only spell I….feel….that
had been used was a scrying spell."
"Who was he scrying on?" Fred asks, tail twitching in agitation.
"The last I heard him say was he wanted to check up on his 'brothers'
and see how they were doing," the retired Pack Leader said, tail twitching.
"Right……" Fred said, coming to a decision.
The thing we need to do is try to get in contact with his brothers and
see if they have any clues as to our missing Pack brother," Fred snaps
out. " Carradene, I need you to try to raise them on the mirrors. Use whatever
apprentices you need…..what ever materials you need,……just keep trying.
If that doesn't work, then try to raise Malachi, then Willian or my brothers…….
"The rest of us will search the area for sign or scent of Manbear Synizn,"
Fred said, pitching his voice to the rest of the Pack. "There are hundreds
of placing where he might have gotten to, willingly or not. We need to
find something, and quick…..because……"
The sentence needed not be completed, for all the Packmembers
felt it. There was danger in the air surrouding the disappearance of their
former dragon who was now a friend and brother……..

calms frazzled nerves and nervous hearts.....
