Inquirer was…..incensed!
First, the Phantoms had betrayed her and immobilized her with a painful
Seizure program so she would have helplessly watched as they had come in,
via their avatars, and killed her and all she had tried to help inside
the shuttle craft.
Now, somebody had tried to intrude on the sanctity of her mind yet again.
This time in the hopes of taking what had not belonged to them in the first
place, and make it their own!
She saw new things with her avatars' optic sensors. Things that she
never had even dreamed of seeing. She Sensed before her something that
had the same "signature" as the SOB who had tried to take over the last
vessel of her consciousness.
She had detected and counterattacked the intrusion with tactics
only one who had been born to the cybernetic realms was capable of, and
with a Codeshield and Codesword, she had blocked the intrusion. She had
ALSO-exchange-from the counterattack her "sword" (which was basically a
program designed to counterhack into an intruder's system and garner information
on THEIR system), learned a few tricks of her own.
The Golem had learned in two seconds learned a frightfully good
knowledge of the….Magical Artes! Not as good as the ghost's or the living
Dr. Vincents, but........
Reaching out with her new tools, she planned on finishing what
she had perceived as the source of her anger, the rapist of her mind, and
Reached into the unconscious mind of the living Dr. Vincent.
However, what she Saw inside the eccentric…..but benign doctor's
mind held the infuriated cyborg/golem's hand.
The still woozily picke himself off the stone floor and looked
up into the stony gaze of Inquirer….who looked back at him with glowing
red eyes……
<You're not the one who tried to force me out into the Hereafter,>
Inquirer said into the startled scientist/mage's mind.
<No, I didn't, though I grieve for the one who did try…..>
the living Dr. Vincent sighs, levering himself off the floor. <I can't
see how somebody so much like me…..could have gone so…..wrong.>
<I'm not sure, but I had impression of a VERY bad childhood,
involving mental and physical abuse,> Inquirer said.
<Whatever the case….needs be that I must put an end to that ghost's
existence…..for I fear what he'll do next!> Dr. Vincent sighs. <But,
though he's paranoid….and apparently suffering from a psychosis or three,
I will hate having to betray his trust.>
-
<Wait,> Inquirer says,
holding her need for vengeance aside for duty. <He's the reason why
my group came here in the first place! We need what he has, damnit.>
