Talking to the Duke

"So what clues have you got so far?" the Duke asks.

"Not as many as we'd like," I say. "We've got the memories of 'Uhura' of what happened to her, we've got the memories of all the female crew of what happened to them - though it all seems to be a bit of a blur to them - and we've got the surviving alien entity that had been in Uhura's embryo. It's pure mental energy, and we've got it confined in a magical force-field in sickbay. When our mages are rested, they're going to see what they can find out from it."

"You'd better put 'Uhura' on to tell her story then. This is being recorded, so our mages won't have to rely on my fallible memory of what she says."

Uhura feels a little nervous finding herself facing a man who looks so similar to her own - when she was Fred - father, but she tells her story well enough. Then I tell the Duke that we'll be in touch again when we have anything more to report - like anything we can find out about our imprisoned alien - and he says that he'll be in touch if the Terra Prime mages come up with anything.

1. I'm about to pass the Duke over to speak to the Captain, when I remember that I wanted to ask him about the female faerie pendant that Dr Who's group had discovered.
