A few days later, the marriage takes place! As B.R. would imagine it to be, it is tasteful and exotic at the same time. Both bride and groom are dressed in a tasteful manner (mayhaps more Earthlike than Galliefrayan as some Doctor Who fans would expect). Point in fact the Doctor is honoring Inquirer's wedding customs by reciprocating the honor she'd done him by using Gallifreyan customs with the engagement by using the wedding ceremony found in her religion, the Church of Silicon Valley (sort of like Christianity, done up in techno with a hint of Budism...and Bushido). After a few days in isolation (in which B.R. had noted that some folks who'd gone out on some kind of quest of some sort had come back drawn out...and maybe even grim.....she couldn't tell from where she'd seen them), they were now ready. It was a study of contradictions. Solemn, but quick, like many things of this religion, B.R. gathered. All in all, it should have been odd and out of place, but.....it worked. Just like the relationship between the Time Lord and the lady Golem. All too soon it's over, so it seems to Betty, and she finds that her eyes....have a few tears in them. It was a lovely wedding, and now it was over. Now it was time to leave, alas. She almost wanted to stay around longer, but then again.....she did have a life and career back home. So after a tearful farewell from her and a few of the fellow guests (even Vila (both of them) and...well...not by the Avons), they soon find themselves back where they were. One odd fellow (looked like Dr. Amram from Heavy Metal), gave her an odd appology for the trouble a Guardian of the Beam had caused her. Something about an elephant that was now being....attended to. Sensing some kind of immense power from the fellow (something not human) she'd nodded and thanked the fellow (and left it at that). Frankly, if it was true, then thank goodness! Maybe this elephant (a meditating elephant?) was the one who'd caused all that initial chaos in her life (the publicity stunts for the X-files and such) before the real deal? Well, she could ask, but.....something inside her just said to drop it and leave it alone, already! B.R., extracting promise from her "sisters" for them to visit from time to time, finally returns to her trailer. It's been days for her, but her cats...while glad to see her, only know it's been minutes if that! While looking over a favorite prop from Torg (the dreaded "Doomwrench"), she gets a call from a friend, reminding her of tonight's game. "Wouldn't dream of missing it," she smiles, "And....you'll like the latest upcoming game session here soon!" With the stuff she'd experienced, what a great background for a roleplaying session!!
"So, how's the final results of your labors?" Slith asked anxiously, looking down at the weary elfin woman named Morgana. The Sivak would have laughed at the blinks he gets from the newlyweds (who'd been isolated during the time in question here) if it hadn't been so serious....
She'd been in and out of a hastily set up mage lab, looking over her patients.....and had managed to break away long enough to attend the great event! What would she say? Did she succeed?! And what a fiasco we had when we had gone into a bit into that cavern Jarlath sighed to himself, remembering. It had been just a few seconds after the Champions had decided that with all the other Champions about, it would be a great idea (and a quick deal faster and easier) if the others got a chance at tackling the other Fred's and Astra's problems as well. The next Fred and Astra couple they'd help would be the demifoxes, they had decided, and then.... Not more than a hundred yards when they had run into a very familiar woman....or women..... They'd walked into the area just as the dragon had snagged both from another reality. The dragon had done it so smoothly that the two woman weren't aware of anything amiss...er....more amiss when Jarlath and the others nearly walked into them. What with the interference from Slith's magical medallions, the dragon found himself without a lock on his latest victims.... Anyway, the one dressed as a genie had been saying.... Astra went on: "I am still a djinn, but the effect of his spell on you is that I am now free. However I could only perform magic in response to a wish of my master...
"That means that now I am free I have lost my magical powers, except as regards my own body."
