Slightly accelerated plans, perhaps?

The Never Ending Quest - episode 17901

"You might have told me," he mutters reproachfully to Synizn, who just chuckles.

Dragon Synizn

It feels good to laugh.

Cederick, I feel, is a pretty good fellow....

It's nice to be able to be so....involved with humans. More so than I ever dreamed when I'd joined "my" Malachi's Dragon Circle so long ago, especially when I joined up out of disgust at the vile doings of Minestus and his like vice out of any belief that human beings could be anything but like petty little children, needing guidance in all things. Tiamat knows that I had enough examples back in my Walants to seem to justify that view. But then again, if I'd only been able to find haven in another, less vile city during that time of my lycanthropic affliction....or even been able to perhaps mingle more with the normal folks instead of having to meditate so much to keep the beast at bay....

Well, that aside, I know differently now.

I now actually belong to a family that keeps proving to me anew every day.....

.....

Hrmph.

I never was too good with the "touchy/feely" stuff, as some of the others call it. My personality always tended to run towards being gruff. The fact that the Manimal neo-lycanthropy that my brother, Manbear Synizn, had contracted had turned him into a Bear Manimal says it all.

That aside, I shift back to my human form and use the human voice (something I could have done in dragon form....but by social customs are social customs for us dragons and I don't know some of the new folks well enough for that) to ask a question.

"So, with that little fact out about me out, does that speed up the time table?" I ask, straightening up my outfit a bit upon completion of my transformation.

Granted, I figure that I could, in a pinch I could just change into my full grown, 200 foot wingspan, dragon form and fly Cederick and the others all to Fred the Satyr's father's castle directly. However, that would pose quiet a few difficulties by the panic of the population my appearance overhead would cause (unlike the villagers here, who know that I was one of the "good guys" saving them from attack). Not to say that my draconian abilities will not be utilized here. However, the others now need to put their heads together in order rethink how best to proceed.

The sound of the chatter, however, seems to put the timetable ahead by a bit (had to explain to Cederick what that was, but he understood readily enough when Exotica explained, relying on what she'd seen in her scryings and such).

So while they are doing that, I stand back and wait.

That's when one of my former students (quick learner, saw much potential in her even at the start) asks me a question that shocks me to a point on par when I learned what swearing my life to Probe, my father, really meant.

  1. "Wha...what?" I stammer out, looking down at Andrea.
