"But we have our own business to attend to!" Jarlath reminds everyone.
"But Fred's - Triakoth's - conversion to Seelie is complete," Andrea says.
"Doesn't that mean that we've failed? What made the Curse come homing in
on us like that, anyway?" "I assume it must have something to do with the
chanting we heard coming from over the hill," Dragon Synizn answers. "Somebody
was casting a spell of some sort. Let's go and investigate."
Over the hill they find Morganna and her "patient". [15717] The Astra in question now looks - and indeed is - perfectly normal again. Triakoth can tell his companions that there is no trace of Unseelie about her. Introductions are made and explanations given. "Oh!" Morganna says, when she understands the implications of what she has done. Her face is grave. "I'm so sorry! I had no idea of the consequences of saving Astra. Those poor people!" The rescued Astra has experienced a rapid change of emotion: from joy
when she awakened to find herself back to normal, to horror now she knows
the terrible price that it seems some of those she met within the Pyramid
will have to pay. Then something occurs to her. Perhaps it is her liking
for "Doctor Who" that encourages her to think that no situation is ever
truly hopeless. "What about that Zerm character that you met?" she asks.
"Couldn't he save the others?"
