"We have needs to talk with the one called Lord Frederigo about
death of my Dragon Circle's Leader, Malachi."
"Synizn, I presume?" Jarlath asks, willing the carpet to land.
"That's Synizn?!" Fred whispers, goggle eyed.
"Yep," Jarlath says simply.
"Yes indeed," Synizn finally, staring down at the strange group of humans
before him, "That is who I am. I am the one who Malachi....with her dying
breath...."
Synizn falters, then firms again as he composes himself.
"Sent Fred and Astra, who were still demifoxes, to you for help," Jarlath
finishes up, "You were probably the closest member of the Circle within
reach by horseback. She probably used a magical item to convey a brief
message telling the basics of what was coming to Walants for aid."
"Is that basically what happened?" Astra asks the staring dragons.
"Who are you people?!" Ebonwing, the dragoness next to Synizn
finally asks.
"You probably are going to have a hard time believing this . . . ."
Joan begins, taking up the conversation thread, pulling out a medallion
that all members of Malachi D'Honaire's old Dragon Circle had to show that
they belonged. The dragoness had later on inducted all of the Champions
into her newly formed Circle as a gesture of trust and friendship. The
magical nature of the medallion was such that it was impossible to counterfeit,
for each was bonded to the owner.....and that feature also identified
itself to other members of the Circle.
And....it was similar enough to the medallions of this worlds
Malachi's Dragon Circle to give credence to the rather wild tale that Joan
tells Synizn (who is now the Head of this Circle). Enough so that each
and every word rings true. For true words they are, since Joan knows that
anything less than the truth will make this tense situation even more tense.
Their Synizns (demifoxes and dragons) hate the personality that
resembled a bear, as such those who lie to them soon wish they hadn't.
And thus after Fred tells what he knows about what happened did
the adventurers find themselves on dragonback, flying towards a dark tower
located in the Calamari desert.
Flight by magical carpet was swift enough, but by dragonback.....only
the vehicles of the Military were faster!

They both
wanted the same thing, to take back the samples taken by Dr. Vincent. Unlike
Minestus' Dragon Circle, Malachi's Circle had a leg up by knowing of Fred's
existence...
