Loam smiles as he enters the quarters of the wizards laboratory. He
had just passed the little cottage that the newlyweds, Alicia and Fred,
had taken residence in. It was their wedding night, and Loam didn't need
his keen wolfin hearing to hear . . . . . the couple howling in pleasure
to be crude about it. He chuckled. While being an animal man had it's drawbacks,
in THAT category the condition had . . . . . improved things.
The grin vanishes as he enters and sees the two mages looking at something
they see in a bowl of water. Pall, the object of the examination, is looking
at the agitated.
"Shit!" Synizn says in a surprisingly high (for a bear) voice. It holds
a world of emotion in it. "Do you know what this MEANS?! I know we all
felt . . . . something pass on that day those golems left, but . . . .
We're . . . .stuck . . . ."
Loam takes a peak over the two wizards' shoulder's and sees that it
is that in the water is an image of Pall, but surrounded by webs and webs
of colored light. Loam can't tell what's up.
"Not . . . . necessarily." whispers Carradene, sitting down on a stool.
"The damn . . . wyrm might have left notes . . . . I mean, ANY good researcher,
even a dragon . . . . ."
Synizn, who had been looking like he'd been gutpunched, suddenly perked
up considerably.
"What?" Pall finally asks, tired of being left out of this discussion.
"What's wrong?"
Carradene licks his chops nervously, looks at Pall and Loam, and then
sighs.
"Minestus is dead," the grey furred wolf mage says. "The aura's we've
examined denote a sudden . . . . cessation of life of the maker of the
giese. The giese that prevents the Pack from wearing clothing is shattered!
That only happens when . . . ."
"The caster dies!" Pall says, with an almost happy growl. "Since we
all know just WHO caste that little thing on us . . . . ."
"But . . . . that means that the only being who had any way of . . .
. curing the plague and the lycanthropy is gone," Loam moans. "When did
THIS happen?"
"It appeared to have happened VERY suddenly days ago." Synizn says.
"However, as my esteemed comrade just pointed out, the SOB would have left
research notes . . . . which we need to find . . . . ."
"So, seems we have something to tell the Pack leader when he and his
beloved get up tomorrow." Loam concludes. "I see you found out something
here, but what about . . . . what's been happening to the Pack during the
last full moon?"
"Inconclusive," mutters Synizn. "When the full moon shines her light
on us tomorrow, I and Carradene can tell you more. I've never heard or
seen anything quiet like this stuff I've seen, but I don't THINK it's going
to bring us to ruin . . . ."
