A few hours latter, Fred isn't singing any more. Yes, it fills his
heart with joy in a way akin to being with Alicia (he really thinks that
there might be a chance with her . . . . and he is really beginning to
REALLY likes her).
"So, you understand, keep on this course." Fred says in a tired voice.
His tail is limp and dragging. "Call me in case anything, and I mean ANYTHING
comes up."
"Aye aye, Captain!" the young male werewolf says, saluting. Fred gives
a halfhearted salute back, and stumbles down to the Captain's Quarterdeck.
He passes a small group of werefolk who are going over some of the lessons
that Fred had drilled them on. He just hopes that nothing happens for a
few hours at least. While it seems he needs LESS sleep than his old form,
and is stronger and has more endurance . . . . he still has limitations.
He just hopes that . . . . he has enough of whatever it'll take to get
the Pack to safety. After that, there were . . . . other concerns. But
that's for latter.
He smiles down at the sleeping form of Alicia, who's sleeping in his
bunk. Well, there was nothing in his vows of chivalry that said that he
couldn't sleep in the same bed with a woman he's . . . . developing a possible
relationship with. Besides, he doesn't feel like sleeping on the floor!
Just, Alicia looks incredible as a werefox. What did she look like as a
human, Fred wonders as he drifts off to sleep. Does she wonder what I looked
like . . . as a human being?
Fred and Alicia sleep and dream of red foxes named Leaping Stream and
Swiftfoot.
About six hours latter, both awaken to find each other snuggled up to
each other.
"This is getting to be an enjoyable habbit." Alicia says with a impish
grin.
"I can think of worse things to wake up to." Fred says gallently. Both
laugh a little at that, and then glance at a clock (rare . . . but the
better ship captains have them to keep track of time and for navigation).
"I've been out for TWELVE hours?" gags Alicia. "Well, you had been not feeling well," Fred says comfortingly. "Hey,
at least it looks like you're feeling better. Still need a bit of time
to get your sea legs."
"Yeah, tell me about it," she mutters as she wobbles over to the table.
"At least, like you said, I don't feel like giving back what I've eaten.
In fact, I could use something right now!"
So.....
