| Astra and Anina crested the next hilltop. At the bottom, hundreds of
yards away, was a mess of boulders. It seemed unlikely that the screamer
had enough time to run to there. Astra headed down anyway, but Anina stopped.
"Why does it smell like a swamp? This ground is hard packed dirt!"
"Either Astra's forgotten everything I've taught her." said Anina, running to the other's side. "Or she's in the grip of something I don't understand."

Astra tore down the hillside, screaming
Fred's name. "Something is terribly wrong with her." Anina said, then followed.
