Fred explains that he fully appreciates just how much he and Astra
owe Synizn, but that he has now settled down to a life of cosy domesticity.
He is blissfully happy, and would be very reluctant to leave his wife and
family. Synizn sighs. "Well, I suppose I could always ask Astra instead,"
he says. "Perhaps she would be more willing." "On the other hand," says
Fred hurriedly, not quite sure whether or not Synizn is serious, "if it's
as important as you say..." "Oh, it is." "So why do you need my help? I'm
good with a sword, but for something like this surely a powerful mage,
like you, is what's required, not a fighter? Anyway, the Crystallic looked
fragile enough to me. Why can't you just smash it with a hammer or something?
And just what can it do?"
