Midworld (Midworld Quest)

Cuthbert Allgood - This is Cuthbert Allgood, son of Robert Allgood. This fellow is the oldest childhood friend of Roland Deschain (the gunslinger as seen in Stephen King's book series, The Dark Tower). His life followed (or vice versa) that of his literary counterpart. Almost everything one might have read in those horror books by King was mirrored....until Roland (with a bit of help) finally reached the Dark Tower. When that happened everything changed.

Everything!

Note: much of this about Cuthbert comes from several sources:

Oh, things were the...er...same up to a point, but then went....different.

Alright, as stated before Cuthbert was and is Roland's oldest childhood. He was the one that had owned the falcon, David, that Roland had used to defeat his teacher, Cort, so he could become a full-fledged gunslinger years early (so as to be able to get the right to carry a gun to to slay Marten Broadcloak, the man who his mother was cheating on with). After that fight was won and Roland had celebrated the event by....er....well.... By having his first woman to celebrate, things began to change drastically.

That, however, is something of a long story as seen here .

Now, a little background info on the guy. He believed in the 12 Guardians of the Beam but did not believe in ghosts until actually meeting one. He also didn't actually believe in the Dark Tower either (thinking it was just a metaphor), but would soon learn otherwise in the new, changed timeline. Before he, according to Roland, had died laughing and with a question on his lips. He was always full of questions and flashingly brilliant. He, in turn, had said that the wheels inside Roland's head ground slow but exceedingly fine (i.e. tended to analyze everything...almost too much). If things hadn't changed on the day that he met his new friends and love from Midworld, he would have used the name "Arthur Heath" when he went with Roland and Alain down to check up on some business well away from any danger around the castle (from Marten's quarters). Would have, if things hadn't changed, grown jealous of Roland for not having gained full Gunslinger status early, but for also having gotten the heart of Susan Delgrado. This would have caused their friendship to be strained and never be the same afterwards. Would eventually lead to events where, after the fall of Gilead, he would have forced Roland and Alain to shoot him (else he would have killed them, apparently. (Note: this is different from what happens in the books, where it was Alain who gets killed).

Instead, when his eyes fell upon Joan 2 (who he would later wed) and his life took a different path. Followed her to Terra Prime, began to date her and as stated soon wed her. It was her that helped Cuthbert change for the better (i.e. before Roland had said that there were a few things that Cuthbert had not been able to overcome that basically meant he cold not advance and grew up more than he did before he died, the....er...first time around).

Can still be sarcastic and sharp tongue when the going gets tough, but is brave. Much like Eddie Dean (a latter friend and ka-tet member of Roland). Point in fact, back in Lud (if Roland had been there to witness it) Eddie could have been mistaken for Cuthbert as he ranted and raved into Blain the Mono's intercom.

But, that is a different story.

Rigth now is on a "validation quest" with his wife and friend on another world to make sure it does not fall into Game 3....
