I'm not talking about the smilies either. I'm talking about Avatars, like what ODS has. See this thread for an example:

ODS has an image next to his name like you described. Is that what you are looking for?

Okay. Those are avatars. You can upload an avatar for yourself by logging in, clicking on the 'Profile' link near the top of the page, and specifying an avatar to upload for yourself at the bottom of your profile page.
