I tried to upload an avatar, but it just told me that the server doesn't have persmission to write to ./images/avatars/.... Therefore it could not save the image file. Then you end up with lots of broken links.

Do you have access to change the permissions on the directory?

Oops. I broke avatar uploading when I upgraded to the new phpBB version. I didn't notice the problem at the time. I've fixed the directory permissions. It should be working now. Thanks for catching the problem.

BTW - In the process of upgrading phpBB, I lost all of the existing avatars. I was able to restore most of the missing avatars from my latest backup. Unfortunately, Erlend joined after the time of my last backup, so I don't have the avatar image for Erlend.
