If you've questions that you'd like answered, it will be easier to spot them if you ask them here rather than in the Never Ending Quest itself. You don't need to register if you don't want to - you can post to the Bulletin Board as a "guest".

I'm guessing that you only want to be able to edit your own episodes. You should be able to do that for a day or two after the episode is first posted - I forget precisely how long. When you return to your episode, press Refresh on your browser to make sure you are viewing the up to date version of the page. You should see an Edit link at the bottom of the page. If it's not there, then it could be because you don't have "cookies" enabled for your browser. (The site uses them to tell that you are the author of the page, rather than being someone else.)

A moderator has extra powers, in that he can edit or delete anyone's episodes. The idea is that episodes that are pornographic or that are totally nonsensical can be dealt with. Moderators are appointed by Sir Toby.

If you want to edit an episode of your own, and find that you can't do it for some reason, then I will be happy to edit it for you if you tell me what changes you'd like made. You can ask me here on the Bulletin Board, or by using the BB's "private message" facility, or by sending me an email.

It is currently set to 30 days.

There is no formal policy for moderator selection. I appointed JH because he has been a part of the Extend-A-Story community from the very beginning, has been a regular contributor, I thought he'd be well suited for the job, and he volunteered for the job back when I first implemented the moderation ability:

Ever since I appointed JH, I figured I would appoint additional moderators on an "as needed" basis. As it turns out, there hasn't been a need to appoint additional moderators, as JH is doing a great job as it is. If we needed to appoint another moderator, I would ask for volunteers and discuss the decision with JH. I'd likely look at the same qualifications as I did for JH: length of time spent at Extend-A-Story, how much they have contributed to Extend-A-Story, and whether or not I think they'd be well suited for the job.

As with all things around here, I am always open to suggestions.
