Could someone help me with this MySQL ExtendaStory question?

Does my database need to be MySQL 4 or MySQL 5?

How long has MySQL 5 been around? Extend-A-Story began in 1999, so if MySQL 5 post-dates that then it's almost certain to work fine with MySQL 4.
