10996--huh?

Seriously, what's the author of this episode going on about?

Also, my condolences to JH (and any other English people here) over the recent events in London.

Someone posted an episode (two episodes, actually, of which that was one) that bore no relation to the preceding story thread at all. If they hadn't been anonymous I would have discussed it with them first, but as it was I didn't see any alternative but to delete it. If the author thinks that I was wrong, and he obviously does, then he should take it up with Sir Toby.

To help people judge if I was right, this is the episode that I deleted:

"I wish I could go back to those eager young days and be with you, Jacob. I wish I could go back and feel like I did then. The world is different now. And I can never go back. Everyday seperates me more, the growing chasm of time wont let me. In some small way I feel conected to you right now. In some small way. But it's a fleeting moment. And then my despair swallows me again. Have a fun summer. It would be one of your last. I'm sorry.

I'm sorry."

Thanks for the condolences.

Hey, JH

That was "mine". Of all the meaningless shit you could have deleted...you chose that. Fine. It was personal. I was dealing with a death of a close friend, who authored episdoes as 'Ib'. This was his account. You know what? Delete everything he's ever written then. Not that anything he ever wrote was worth ANYTHING remotely, to anyone other than me. Those London blasts!? Haven't you dealt with that for decades!? What with the IRA and all, you imperialist bastards. And by the way, if you let 1 million stupid sand-niggers into your oppressive (although wrongly labeled 'progressive") society, what do you expect!? Imagine what 9/11 did to this country. We bailed your ass out of WW2 and you fucking cock-suckers give us shit over Bush being re-elected!? Rot in Hell like the French, Germans, Spanish, and Italians.

Sorry for your loss, BUT...

Lost Soldier,

Sorry for your loss and I know WHAT it means to lose someone. I MYSELF did not take losing my grandfather a few years ago easily at ALL.

However, this does NOT give you the right to lambast JH, PERIOD!

I served my country and voted . . . for who I voted for (four more years, yep) and DON'T you get on my case for writing this, either!!

I'm sorry, but I'm not a mind reader, and I had no way of knowing that that was what the episodes were about. If I see anonymous episodes that bear no relation at all to the story up to that point, then I don't have any choice but to delete them if the Guidelines are to have any meaning. Sure, there is a lot of shit in the addventure, but an episode being poor isn't a valid reason in itself for deleting it. After all, one man's poor is another man's brilliant. Quality is only an issue if the writing is so bad that the episode is unintelligible.

The things that will get episodes deleted or edited are porn (though even that involves an element of subjective judgement), foul language, flaming of another author, breach of copyright, libelling a real person and failing to maintain continuity.

I'm sure that I haven't deleted some episodes that I should have, and perhaps have overreacted to some others, but nobody's perfect, and I try to do the job impartially.

I'm sorry about your friend. I'd always assumed that "Ib" and "Lost Soldier" were the same person.

I'm also sorry that you seem to hate me and the entire British people. I'm rather regretting now that I ever volunteered to be a moderator. :(

I think someone overreacted here, even if a close friend of his died.

There wasn't any need to start attacking Britain and its people like that.
