Some Interesting(?) Statistics

By doing a search using the Creation Time option, I've been able to determine how many episodes have been created in each year, Encouragingly, summing the annual figures gives 26930, which agrees with what clicking on the Statistics link tells me. Here are the figures:

1999 2687
2000 3241
2001 1448
2002 1768
2003 4069
2004 3263
2005 2111
2006 2671
2007 1886
2008 2455
2009 920
2010 411

Though the level of activity has fallen off over the last two years, we are still averaging more than one episode a day, which is a higher figure than I had thought that it might be.

Sounds good to me. :) Ben and Lots have been doing their bit towards that recently.

I tried loading those numbers into OpenOffice and making a graph. It turned out like this:

(Speaking of g'raphs...)

If I counted correctly, by adding January's 31 days with February's 28 days and the 13 days in March so far, we've written a grand total of 309 episodes so far in 2011.

So, we're pretty close to matching last year's total, and we can probably pass that mark by the end of this month if certain authors have another burst or two of creativity.

by Hi! My name is Ib!
Thanks for the graph, WOn-Tolla.

And I agree with Ben on the statistics.

There's a been a lot of great authors who have come through and then return months or even years later.... and many more don't.

But like JH said once this place is like the Hotel California!

JH and Lots are definitely the most consistently present. And respected.

Lots is a total enigma. He's totally brilliant but he doesn't seem to have the patience to stick to any thread for long. He's like Johny Appleseed.

And JH? What can you say? He's the Boss.

He's the Boss. (That's a complimant, in America).

There's been so many great writers here! Its too bad most of them only stick around for a month or two.

Thanks, Ib! Does that mean that I'm Bruce Springsteen? :) (ISTR that he's known as The Boss.)
