Extend-A-Story version 2.1.1 (security fix) released

Post by Sir Toby »

Extend-A-Story is an interactive, extendable, choose your own adventure story. Extend-A-Story has been in active use ever since February, 1999 starting with the story, The Never Ending Quest. Since that time, over 12,000 episodes have been written. The first version was written in ASP going against a MS Access database. Since then, several features and enhancements were added.

Release 2.1.1 fixes several bugs that were recently found in the 2.1.0 release. Some of these bugs could potentially lead to security vurnerabilities where an attacker would be able to execute arbitrary SQL statements within your MySQL database at the permission level of your Extend-A-Story database user. It is highly recommended that everyone who is using 2.1.0 upgrade to 2.1.1 as soon as possible.
