The Search Engine Is Broken

Post by Lots42 »

Okay, so I wanted to search for all instances of Josh Burbank.

I put in the name as Quotes and selected 'Episode Body'.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

I left off the quotes.

It brought up every single mention of the word Josh.

I have no idea what is going on and it makes my head hurt.

Of course, it's easy to make my head hurt. Stupid migraines.

Unfortunately I don't think the search engine works on multiple words. You can probably find the episodes you were looking for by searching on "Burbank" (without the quotes, of course).

Works for me...

With the Episode Body option, I searched on Josh Burbank, without any quotes, and got back 12 episodes.

The search engine works fine with multiple words. Just don't surround the words with quotes. The search engine looks for an exact match of the text you type in. If you surround the text with quotes, the search engine will only return episodes that contain that text surrounded by quotes.

Odd...

Lots42, I don't know why you are getting results that are different from mine. I'll try to get someone else to perform the same search and see what their results are. Is someone else willing to try out this search and see what they get back? I just double checked my results and am still getting 12 episodes back.

Well, I got the same results as Sir Toby. Maybe some of Lots's insanity has rubbed off on his computer?

Exactly how many episodes do you get back when you search for Josh Burbank with no quotes with the Episode Body option? I want to see if I can reproduce what is going wrong for you.

I'll check when my computer isn't acting so damned weird. When it won't even Scandisk, something is -up-.
