Convergence

Well I imagine some of you may be a little confused by all this... :) I didn't put a whole lot of explanation into my second episode, because I figured that the characters would be too confused and shocked by everything that was going on to have a clear speculative conversation. What's going on is t...

Welcome back! I wasn't around for this whole thread, so it looks like I have a bit of catching up to do. :D

She certainly will be reappearing in the episodes that I write, along with the dwarves. It took me quite some time to figure out what to do with them, especially since Astra has been through so many traumatic things in this thread it's pretty hard to see how she could recover, but now I think I have...

Also, I might not write any new episodes for a while because I'll be concentrating on a continuation of the Borderlands thread. This episode--or rather episodes, since I plan on addressing all the key subplots as well as adding a few new ones--will likely take some time to write.

There's a summary of that thread on Anableps's site. As to the Thoabath business, I assumed that he had the same backstory as his counterpart from Betrayal by Moonlight, IE, he went to Hell after Vincent failed to bring him back. Which means he could actually be Astra 2's Fred. Or not.

Re: 90872

Well that sure did complicate things, didn't it? :) I had two ideas about where to go next--having the next traveler who shows up be Thoabath!Fred and having the place they're in be the world from the Mysterious Distortions thread. I decided to go with both. This may or may not have been a good idea.

I finally thought of where to go for the Elder Race thread, so hopefully I'll write the next episode of that soon. I also thought of a fairly neat idea of what the Stone of Destiny actually is, though it will probably be quite a while before I get a chance to use it (assuming I don't get writer's bl...

I'm afraid my writing will be a little less plentiful right now, as my workload has been getting heavier. I liked the explanation but I don't really know where to go from here yet.

A few little bits of trivia in re 90453: the name "Eromreven"--which is of course "nevermore" spelled backwards--was inspired by the song "The Raven Talks Backwards" by Two Steps from Hell, who produce (ridiculously awesome) music for movie trailers. I often listen to t...

I know exactly what you mean about the "to read" pile. As a grad student, I barely have time to read anything outside of classes. However, I found the Elric books I've read to be pretty quick reads, which I very much appreciate right now. I'll be addressing those thoughts in the next episo...

I vaguely remembered some thread like that, I may even have written a branch of it back in the day. (Probably it wasn't very good.) I would strongly recommend at least some of the Elric stories. They're a thoroughly mixed bag, but some of them are imaginative and haunting, and Elric is a complex and...

I wound up taking a page from the old Justice League comics and splitting them up into groups. Also, the current direction of this thread is not in any way inspired by Inception, which I haven't seen, but by Michael Moorcock's Elric books, which I'm finally reading for the first time. Thus also the ...

I'm having much more trouble writing this thread than its sibling. Probably because it has a relatively large number of characters at once in it. That makes it harder to give them all something meaningful to do.

By the way--I just noticed a minor typo in 90004. The third option has "thwemselves."
