Your disguise was that of a Volchex - or at least that is what Mavra told
you. They were not the most talkative of races outside of their own friend
or family group, so you would not be expected to talk a lot. However, they
were extremely disapproving of rudeness. To ignore a greeting, even though
there would not be a followup conversation, would be unthinkable. To that
end, your disguise had a built-in voicechanger. Mavra did not tell you where exactly the freighter was heading though she did hint that there would be a surprise involved. One piece of information she did let slip was that the planet was outside of what was called the Catasamari Partnership. This incorporated all the planets that once had been under the heel of the Terranian Empire. It was named after the planet where the headquarters were based. The freighter utilised some form of faster-than-light travel that meant that the space outside the ship was grey, and therefore not very interesting to look at. Your cabin was close to the main engines, and even though it was shielded against the noise they made, it was still quite noticeable. It was a pity there was nothing to help dampen the vibration, though. It was almost enough to set your teeth on edge. Entertainment was rather limited, too. You did have some form of computer terminal in your cabin, but it seemed to be malfunctioning more often than not. You seemed to get the most enjoyment out of trying to guess when exactly it was going to stop working. After a while you found yourself getting quite good at it. When it came to having something to eat, it was a far more basic affair than what you found on the starbase. At certain times your cabin door would open, and a member of the crew would wordlessly leave a tray of something on the floor. It was never anything you recognised, but then again, it was never inedible. What you normally had to drink was some kind of orange beverage. You were not to keen on it, but you never got anything else. An indeterminable amount of time later, you and the other passengers got to see your destination. It was Earth! Mavra saying that the planet was going to be a surprise was an understatement. Fortunately your disguise hides your true feelings well. For some indiscernible reason you expected it to be nothing but rubble.
