Amergin scratched his chin. "I've heard legends like this. Travelers in these woods sometimes heard laughter right before a great beast would divide their numbers in half."
The laughter and the one making it became clear as a beast, the size of chipmunk, appeared in the path.
"Of course." said Amergin. "Tales passed down over the centuries tend to get the details wrong..."
The creature giggled. It's great black tail, twice as long as it was, twitched. It showed small, nubs of teeth.

  1. The creature ran away.
  2. The creature followed them. Sarah named it 'Snuffles' for no reason she could figure out.
  3. The creature exploded. POOF.
  4. The creature eats Amergin.
  5. The two heroes meet the Musical Bandits. Fortunately they owe Amergin a favor but they still make life miserable.
