Bob and You - Whose Story is This, Anyway?

Point of View Shifts Again. Bob wakes you up. He says, "Hey, man, I don't want to be a bother, but this branch is dedicated to my point of view. If it was your story, the interested reader would have picked option 2 in episode 2."

You think about this, and respond, "It wasn't really my choice. Someone did a POV shift a couple of episodes back. But things weren't going well for you, Bob, if I remember correctly. The water trail had petered out into a cave, and my house came in pretty handy. By the way, there are leftovers in the fridge. There is half a pizza, a bottle of Diet Coke, and some sandwich makings. Help yourself."

Bob goes into the kitchen, and returns a couple of minutes later with two paper plates with a slice of pizza and two glasses of Diet Coke. You eat pizza with Bob and discuss the situation.

There are four options. You and Bob can part company, with Bob going his way and you going the other. The focus of the story would go to Bob in one option, and stay with you in the other. Or you and Bob can join forces, with one option continuing from your point of view, and the other shifting back to Bob, with details on your past being left to the discretion of future authors.

1. Bob the teenage computer programmer goes on his way, and the story focuses on you, in the living room of your house.
2. Bob the teenage computer programmer goes on his way, with some help from you. You can't figure out how swatting a fly changed Bob's world, but you can direct him to a nearby convenience store..
3. You join in the adventure with Bob the teenage computer programmer. The episode continues from your point of view.
4. You join in the adventures with Bob the teenage computer programmer. The episode continues from Bob's point of view.
