The Black Void - Episode 705

As the princess looks on, you begin combing the castle for the black
void. You start with the closet. Not surprisingly, it's bigger than your
apartment, and filled with hundreds of fabulous dresses of every make and
fashion. Odd, you wonder, certainly not the closet of someone being
oppressed by her evil stepmother. No sign of the Void, in any case, so
you shut the door and check under the bed. None there either. "What are you looking for, anyway?" Annabeline says, getting pissy. "A void. A black one." you explain, wiping the sweat from your brow. All this running around has got you hankering for some tacos. "It's hard to explain, but I'm sure its somewhere around here. I can feel it. It's somewhere in this castle." "Okay!" Annabeline says. "Let's get searching! But... there are guards about. That... hag, Estelle ordered them all not to let me out of the room. And I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate an oddly dressed person like yourself running around. We'll need weapons. The guard outside has a sword. I'll call him in, while you stand behind the door and club him with something. But gently, we don't want to kill him, right?" "Princess, I'm not sure what kind of Ninja you think I am." you say grimly. "I would never attack a man from behind. That goes against everything a Ninja stands for!" Suddenly there is a scream outside, and a thump against the door. Princess Annabelline turns pale as blood starts flowing under the doorframe. "No..." she whispers. "It cannot be!" You hear more screams, and a strange sound outside, like that of an animal running down the corridor. "We have to get out of here!" the Princess says urgently, drawing you toward the wall, where she pulls on a torch. The wall slides away, revealing a staircase leading down into utter darkness. Hmm, you think, another inconsistency. Why would a Princess locked away in a tower have a secret passageway? Ah, whatever.
