You are astonished. If these black voids are for collecting women, then
assuming that the numbers that you can see are replicated across the
globe the aliens must be planning on abducting literally millions. Or do
they anticipate that only a tiny fraction of the black voids will succeed
in capturing a woman?
Another possibility occurs to you. The aliens might have noticed your absence, realised that you left via a black void, and somehow have been able to trace you here. In which case all these black voids are to try to make absolutely certain that one will pick you up before you have the chance to raise the alarm.
