Before long you see yet another black void just ahead. Perhaps you attract them in some way? Otherwise it's hard to explain why you seem to keep on encountering them.

Surely wherever it might take you is almost bound to be better than wandering in the jungle? So you step into it.

You find yourself standing on a sidewalk in a bustling modern city. The traffic is driving on the right and you see a yellow cab pass by, so it might well be New York. As you are still a dark-skinned pygmy woman wearing only a fur bikini, you draw many curious looks from the passers by.

1. A kindly passer by asks if you need help.
2. Even worse, your immersion in the magic pool must have altered your mind as well as your body. You realise that you can't read any of the signs in the store windows, and when someone talks to you it sounds like gibberish.
