Eleventh Hour Deliverance

Since the pot is already boiling, you fear that you will be added to it at any moment. "No!" you cry. "Please don't eat me!" Of course it is extremely unlikely that any of your captors can speak English, and none of the pygmies who are milling around your bound form takes the slightest bit of notice.

But then a new pygmy appears on the scene. Though, like the others, he is almost completely naked, he wears a fancy headdress made of feathers. Is this the tribe's chief, or perhaps their shaman?

You are afraid that he will give the order to have you put in the pot. But instead he shouts at the others, clearly angry with them for some reason.

A couple of men hasten to untie your bonds. You struggle to your feet, feeling a little stiff from lying in one position for a while. It seems that the chief does not want you eaten, or even held captive, though of course you don't know why.

1. Then the chief prostrates himself before you. Does your colour and height make him think that you are a goddess or superhuman being?
2. The chief steps forward, and rubs his hand over the sleeve of your nightie. He looks astonished at the smooth texture of the material. Does he want it for himself? It would be almost ankle-length on him.
3. From the lascivious way the chief is looking at you, you have the uneasy feeling that he might want you for a mate.
