You press the button. You don't hear or see anything dramatic, but something is different. You are now sitting at an old fashioned writing desk with a leather inlay on the desktop. You push back on the high-backed chair that you are sitting on, and it rolls back across the carpet. You check your pockets. Wallet, with a major credit card. In the wallet is a driver's license. $420 in cash - all in twenties. A gift card from one of the big hardware store chains. No pictures of family or friends. You also have a set of keys. The one with a heavy black plastic at it base is probably the key to an automobile. The one with the light red plastic is probably a house key. There are three other smaller ones. No pocket telephone. You find that to be strange for some reason. You leave the home office, and go into the hallway and open the front door. This house has wood siding that is painted green. The street that this house is on is not busy - it looks like a short street in a suburb. There is a front lawn, and a white mailbox at the curb. You open the mailbox, and there is an advertisement for a new kebab restaurant, addressed to the occupant of 264 Vermont Avenue. Some of this seems familiar, as if you have lived in a world like this before, but you also feel that you have been dropped in an unfamiliar town. You take the advertisement.
