The food was shredded carrots and lettuce again, even though different
varieties of lettuces appeared to be used. That seemed to be the limit to
the man's imagination. Either he didn't know or care that there was proper
balanced rabbit food about. Though I suppose carrots and lettuce aren't as
easy to tamper
with. I recalled that the woman earlier had said we wouldn't come to any
harm, so I would like to imagine that the man had a particularly weird
sense of humour. It was no surprise that Jane wanted me to try the food first, so if I keeled over or anything, she'd know not to touch it. I sniffed it and noticed that there didn't seem to be anything odd about it, so I nibbled some. I waited a while, but there seemed to be no adverse effect, so I nibbled some more while Jane also decided to risk it. Well, whatever that man was on about - if he was being serious - it wasn't related to the food. Not long afterwards, the man came back...
