Evicted

"Hari! I...you overheard, didn't you?" I nod quietly.

"I'm really sorry, but we'll have to move again. I was hoping to give you a chance to rest. All this moving about must be hard on you, in your condition." I recall that he never cared so much about my "condition" during our time together in the brothel. Maybe his opinion of me has changed since we escaped.

"You've no need to apologize, John. I know you're doing your best for us, and I really appreciate it. You're not to blame for the prejudice of others."

He smiles. "I suppose you're right. It's only midafternoon. We should be able to find a smith easily enough. It's finding new lodgings that will be more diffcult. Even if we get your anklet removed, I doubt this inn will have us back."

"I dare say they don't deserve our patronage anyway!" I retort. John laughs, taking my hand. "Well, let's be off then."

After collecting Moula and Teran from the adjacent room, (they were talking) we head out to locate a blacksmith.

1. We find one with little difficulty, who removes the anklets.
2. We are unable to locate one.
3. We find a smith, but his price is entirely unreasonable.
