He pondered his options, and eventually decided he must

  1. learn more about this place and these people, so he resolved to disguise himself and live among them, at least for a time.
  2. initiate a one-man reign of terror and violence all across the land to show these people what magic can really do.
  3. discard his sorcerer's robes and learn what it was like to live without using his magic at all.
  4. try to devise a spell that would take him somewhere more suited to someone like him.
