Am I Pregnant?

This is a surprise indeed. I've missed periods before, without incident, but if I am pregnant, I have no idea what that will mean. Am I pregnant with the Sultan's heir? Will the baby be able to challenge Arif for the throne? I decide to call for Munaf and see if he knows anything.

Soon, Munaf re-enters the harem. "You asked for me, Haria?"

"Munaf, I have a question for you." I lay back on a divan, and sigh. "I think I might be pregnant with the Sultan's child. Can you get a doctor or something, so I can tell if I'm pregnant or not?"

"No need. I will be able to tell for you."

"How can you tell?"

He looks at me blankly. "I can see more than most people. I will look and see if you are pregnant."

He trains his gaze on my belly, and seems to be trying to look inside it. A slight tingle passes up my spine. Obviously, Munaf is some kind of magician.

Munaf ends his examination, and looks right into my eyes. What is his verdict?

1. "Haria, this is a surprise... You are pregnant with the Sultan's heir."
2. "You are not pregnant. I suspected as much."
