Is Escape Feasible - or even Wise?

Munaf leads me to an exit from the harem different to the one that I came in by. The door opens onto a richly carpeted corridor that I imagine leads to the Sultan's personal quarters. No doubt he would want quick and easy access to and from the harem. There is only one guard on the far side of this door, presumably because it is effectively an internal door. The main force would be on the entrance/exit from the Sultan's quarters to the rest of the palace, I imagine.

As he strides down the corridor, taking it for granted that I am following, I consider the possibility of escape. But even if I could somehow get past the guards, and out into the main part of the palace, wouldn't someone be bound to see me? Dressed as I am, it would be obvious that I had come from the harem, and I would probably soon be recaptured. For the best chance of success in an escape attempt, it should be made at night, not while there is still daylight. Also I'm no longer so sure that I even want to escape. Compared to what my fate could have been, I seem to have been very fortunate.

1. So I continue to follow Munaf.
2. I see a possible hiding place. I could slip inside and wait for a couple of hours till it was dark - assuming that I wasn't discovered, of course.
