Sarah supposed that, having chosen to accompany the bard, she could hardly
object to his singing. After all, that was what bards did. She consoled
herself with the thought that, though his tunes and his lyrics were not at
all to her taste, perhaps she might learn something useful from his songs
about the strange world in which she had somehow found herself.
When he came to the end of his song, she asked him: "So how far is it to this River Anduin?" "About two days journey, I'd say." "It's a pretty big river, I take it?" "Oh yes. The mightiest in Middle Earth." "So there will be a bridge or a ferry by which we can cross it, will there?"
