The Black Void - Episode 1886

I step out of the river. I'm not going to swim in it - I have no idea what kind of creatures could be in it, waiting to make me a meal. And with what's been happening so far, that seems entirely plausible. I begin to walk along the bank of the river, through the cooler sand. The moon is out, casting eerie silver shadows over the sand and making it glint white. I don't know if that can happen in real life, but it's really quite striking. About three hours later, I have crested a large sand dune. It looks down over a basin, in which I can see signs of civilization. A settlement! My heart leaps with joy. What kind of settlement is it?

  1. A sprawl of large modern buildings.
  2. A ramshackle collection of tents.
  3. A group of primitive mud huts.
