Forty-Five Minute Wait: Too Short!?

The Black Void - Episode 1686

"Stop yelling at me! Please!" you yell.

"I will not stop yelling at you! Your service is too fast!"

"What on earth do you mean, too fast? You've been standing there for 45 minutes!"

"Yes, that's fifteen minutes too short! You see, I've been coming to this store for four years now, and I've never had service under an hour. Now, I just tell my wife I'm going to Dick's Dandy Wines, and I can come home four hours later, drunk, and she won't think a thing of it. But now, you're going to find the bottle, and you know I'm actually going to have to bring it straight home, and it's not even going to take an hour, so then what will my wife think when I start coming home in one hour instead of four? And you just got here and started serving me in less than a minute. So when I come here next time, it will take what, two minutes? And then my wife will start wanting to know where I'm going all these times I'm out for four hours at a time. You see, I don't mind waiting for two hours for my wine, because I know that it gives me an excuse next time I come home two hours late. I mind prompt, speedy service, because then I can't do anything. You understand me? Dick's Dandy Wines prides itself on being the slowest wine shop in the land! By the time you've got it, it's aged just right! That's an exaggeration, of course, but you get the point. You work like this, you're going to drive all the regular customers away!"

  1. You agree to slow down service in the shop.
  2. You leave the shop to go find Maggie. Not like anything's going to be going on here.
  3. You insist on doing things your way. Whether or not this is a good business decision remains to be seen.
