A Large Animal...or so.

The Black Void - Episode 1335

It was a Dire Cow. Naturally, Sarah balked at the presence of the mighty horns on what looked to be a native dairy cow. Amergin said things would be okay if they made no real loud noises, that is the only thing that caused Dire Cows to attack. He suggested they move on. But Sarah noticed something. The Dire Cow had barbed wire cruelly trapped around her tail. It not only dug into the skin painfully, it prevented the animal from swatting at the flies that were even now gathering.
"We must help her." whispered Sarah as the two peered over an array of small boulders.
"No, my lady. No. If we accidentally make a loud sound, we would be helpless before it's horns."
"It's in PAIN." Sarah hissed. "You go on ahead. I dealt with cows at home."
"With horns and the abillity to smash you to splinters?"
"Not really. But I'll approach from the side. Besides, I have this bright new body now, it feels a lot faster and swifter."
"Dire Cows have slain elves before."
"Well, that's just a fact you did not need to tell me."

  1. Sarah gets the wire off and the cow runs off.
  2. Sarah cannot get the wire off and needs Amergin's help. It's a two entity-job.
  3. Sarah gets the wire off, unfortunately it wraps itself around her left arm. It is cursed!
  4. It is not a Dire Cow, it is a loyal dog cursed by a senile witch. Now the duo is a trio...and the dog-cow cares nothing about loud sounds.
  5. The Dire Cow, now wire and cow-shape free, was a djinn that had been entrapped by it's own mistake. As a reward, Stacy can now have one question answered; except how to get home. Sorry.
