Bob stopped. Lying on the ground in front of him was a clean, shiny, very
nasty-looking AK-47 assault rifle. He looked to his left. He looked to
his right. He even looked up, having seen every Bond movie ever made. No
one.
He picked up the gun. It was satisfyingly heavy. "I hope I don't have to use this," he said to himself unconvincingly. He began cautiously retracing his steps back the way he had come, keeping his eyes and ears peeled for the underpaid henchmen who had previously escorted him. As he rounded a corner he was suddenly faced by half a dozen thugs in coveralls. He was so on edge, he immediately pointed the weapon at them and pulled the trigger without thinking. Nothing happened. The gun held no ammo at all.
