"You would sacrifice your own mother so you couldn't be given this honor?" ask Astra, horrified by how this girl could be so callous.
"I'm sorry, but I cannot be a djinn. I need to work on the farm and take care of my sister." Maria lied. She may not have minded the farm, but her sister was fine. To Maria, the only important person was herself. She would help Astra take every single innocent woman in Aqualaria if it meant she would survive. And to Maria, her mother and sister were just simple pawns in her fight for survival. "Besides, my mother would be begging to join your harem if she knew what you planned to do to me." explained Maria, the only true thing she had said to Astra for a while.
Astra thought it over and replied, "Okay, I'll do it. Your mother will be my master's new djinn."
"Great," said Maria, overjoyed her plan went perfectly. "I'm Maria Thornedale, by the way."
As the two waited in Maria's house for her mother, Margaret Thornedale, Astra began to think whether she should keep her end of the bargain and spare Maria. After all, Maria should she was willing to give up her family for her own safety. Maybe there was more to Maria than Astra thought. But just then, a stunningly beautiful women came into the house. As soon as the woman was close by, Maria jumped out and said in a singsong, "Hello, Mother. I have a surprise for you."
"What is it my dear?" asked Margaret with a smile. As soon as Margaret said this, Astra floated out from her hiding place. After Astra told Margaret of what was to be her fate, Margaret rushed to the door. But just as she got there, an invisible force held her, pinning her arms to her sides lifting her head up.
Astra went up to the frightened woman and said, "Now don't worry, this will be completely painless." As the djinn said this, a green smoke came and turned Margaret's clothes into a harem outfit, with a green emerald in her navel. As Margaret disappeared into her own lamp, Maria asked Astra, "Now, is there anything else you need?"
