Belboz gives Fred a thin smile. The knight seemed to be confusing his quest about slaying the dragon with his question of becoming a dragon. For the necromancer, having a white dragon as the new proprietor of the mountain would be an extremely amicable arrangement - especially a white dragon with the mental defenses that Fred was showing.
"You must first slay the ghouled knights, Fred," Belboz says. "And to do that, I must first put an enchantment on your blade. Will you hand it to me?" Fred complies. Such a good little knight. Belboz begins to put the enchantment on the sword, one which will absorb some of the white dragon's power with each ghoul slain, giving Fred some of the powers that come with undeath so he may stand a chance against the white dragon. A pity that a necromancer's best spells require components harvested from slain creatures, but the universe is what it is.
