"NOW!" Belboz screamed. What happened next seemed to happen in slow motion. The bandits that were further back began drawing their bowstrings back. The ones with melee weapons began to swing them. Their leader began barking orders of his own. An arrow struck Fred in the chest. Belboz's right arm was broken by a mace. An owl scratched at the half-troll's face. Fred got up from the ground. An archer was on fire. Fred stabbed a woman with a cutlass. The forest was on fire.
