"It seems that there is a virus in the system," Mark announced after he had investigated the log reports. "It caused every MagiTek device attached to our network - which of course is all of them - to shut down when the scan was initiated."
"But it's a purely local network," Sylvia said. "How could a virus get into it? Could it have been deliberate sabotage by one of our employees?" "That does seem likely. It looks as though someone didn't want us running any scans, for some reason." "How long before you can get things up and running again?" "It won't take long to reboot everything. But of course there's no point in trying another scan until we have cleared out the virus. For that, we're going to need an expert in computer security, as I don't think that it's a known virus. So we're unlikely to be able to do the scan until tomorrow." "Very well. Bring in your expert. And I want a list of everyone who has access to the system on my desk within the hour. I suppose that the subjects can't very well stay in the lab overnight, so they'll have to go in a holding cell." Meanwhile, elsewhere in the building, another of Benjamin Naren's operatives was putting the plan in place to extract Fred and Siva.
