A Mental Dam-burst

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 98901

Suddenly, all of Astra's memories came flooding back. She remembered everything. It came as a tremendous shock, and she almost fainted. Goddess, just how long had she been chained up? Why did certain events seem to keep on recurring? Had all of it really happened? Were her memories to be relied on, or were some of them no more than dreams or hallucinations, perhaps subconsciously conjured up to prevent herself from going mad from boredom?

Recalling how she had for a short while believed herself to be "Alice", she was now more convinced than ever that the girl who thought herself to be Erica was actually Princess Exotica. How had Exotica come to the caves? Could Ivy still perform the Rite of Transmigration even if "Erica" was not really her daughter? And why did she want to, with someone who was not her kin? Though seemingly she needed both Astra and "Timothy", whoever he was, before she could do that. So many questions, but so few answers. And even if she had the answers, she wasn't in a position to do anything about with the knowledge, much as she would like to rescue Exotica. (Always assuming that she had not been an hallucination.)

  1. She was so very alone.
  2. A few moments (and another wave of nausea) later, she was back on the mossy pathway. She still had all her memories.
  3. A few moments (and another wave of nausea) later, she was back on the mossy pathway, remembering only her Alice persona.
