A Very Brief Two-way Trip

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 98840

Fred appeared in front of the blank storefront where the Starbucks at the End of the Multiverse would appear. He saw that the flashy countdown clock was currently showing one and a half hours. Aware that since Old Gek held Astra he dared not try to doublecross him, he memorised the clock's display and then activated the personal favourite feature on his wristband to return to whence he had come.

"You were commendably prompt," Old Gek told him. "It seems that I should not have doubted your chivalry. I've just realised that I should have shown you how to use the wristband to take a photograph of the clock display, but I didn't think of it and it's too late now. So tell me, what was the display showing?"

  1. Fred answers truthfully.
  2. "One hour and twenty minutes," Fred lies. When Old Gek discovers that his answer was out by ten minutes he can pretend that it was a genuine mistake. And with the party having to wait in the Mall for ten minutes there may be a chance of escape.
  3. "Three hours," Fred lies. Perhaps the extra ninety minutes will give them enough time to find a way to escape.
  4. Meanwhile, what of Velus?
