Ahead Fred saw Zenobia, also floating in mid-air but, unlike himself, apparently perfectly comfortable with the situation. She was looking back at him and laughing, apparently amused by his having thrown up.

"Did you think that you and your trollop had escaped me, sir knight?" she said mockingly. "Well you were wrong." Fred could hear her perfectly, presumably thanks to some spell as she was some ten yards away from him. She went on: "And talking of the trollop...

  1. "I think that she should join us." Looking downwards, Fred saw Diana rising towards them, ineffectually waving her arms and legs as if attempting to prevent her upward progress.
  2. "I think that we should go down and see how she is getting on."
