Tabitha's telling tale Part 1

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 98243

“But the short of it for right now is that Eva just happened to be an . . .analog of sorts of sister Lilith here and . . .”

”Analog” was not really the proper term for Eva in as far as her relationship with Lilith, but close enough for government work and leave at that. Honestly, she was more of a “clone” of Lilith (in a sensee) through some sort of quantum dickery gone wild after having the fortune of trying to “harvest” a wayward Kalish woman (who actually was a biloid but why be picky)…

At least that part did not have to be explained, thank goodness. While all of the cloned women here had intelligences that would be . . .off the charts by certain measures that did not mean that their calling had been in the realm of physics.

No, explaining to Betty Ragan how that all exactly worked wasn’t something that Yukido wished to do at this moment in time, thanks. The “analog” angle was “close enough for government work” as the old saw went and that suited the young clone just fine. She just wished to take up her moment in the spot light and be done with it as soon as possible (she found herself a bit suffering from a bout of stage fright), but duty was duty to her new family (her sisters).

But she did (if only in passing) mention to Betty just why Eva and her fellow Pilots might have treated Willow roughly, emotionally, but it could (and would have been) much worse if the truth had come out without Rei forewarnings. In the heat of the moment with fire forged friends (and Instrumentality had been something of a hellacious forging event for them in the end) Willow probably would have suffered from a fatal “accident”. As new as Yukido was to human interaction, her gut told her this was true.

She just felt it was her duty as . . .a sister to set the records straight, you know. Defend her sisters’ honor and such for she felt like being “protective” of them.

And with that aside a young woman with who was one of the newest sisters of the “First Child” clan turned to the woman of the VLA …

The tension was rather tense in the air. “Thick enough to cut with a knife” is how’d some would describe it if the young clone woman did not miss her guess. She believed that would be the right colloquial term, anyway.

The woman from that so very odd land frowns and looked at the others before gesturing slightly to the young winged girl to proceed. After all, through this young woman she had received some of the more powerful surprises in her life and it had been hinted that with this last set of introductions would . . .settle the remaining questions that had arisen of recent.

Whoever this Willow person was seemed to feature rather large in the softly whispered conversation the wayward siblings had with the young woman who’d rather disrupted her expectations quiet nicely. What little the White Witch of Airan understood of what she had overheard --she had better hearing than the normal human—left her with the idea that events

Nodding slightly, the young woman with aqua colored wings and hair looked quickly around the room, pausing to look at first at a young teenage boy roughly her age (by one reckoning of things) and his group.

Her gaze lingers for a few seconds on the teen known as John Conners before continuing, noticing his gaze upon not only her but her sisters. The gaze was lingering in areas that was decidedly below the chin, as it were. Very interested, shall we say.

Whatever the case, it did not offend the winged woman though she would (if asked) have to say that it was too early yet to “go looking”. The recent breakup with her old lover due to his actions was…still fresh enough in her mind (even IF it was garbled by her wish). She’ll get over it soon enough and move on to bigger and better things, but not YET.

No, not something to dwell upon right now, but still not to say that everyone has those same hang-ups here she sees!

”Hm,” she comments to herself as she also notices that her lavender haired sister is also . . .er . . .checking John over as well.

Hm…More power to her. Loneliness is something that her sisters had dealt with most of their lives as the "First Child". Something they'd not like to be FORCED to stay (alone) by making. . .connections with others; forming bonds with other people and groups. Family. Friends. And . . .other kinds as well. Bonds like "boyfriend" kind of bonds and perhaps later on . . .something MUCH deeper and MOST permanent (and sacred) kinds of the heart and soul.

Nodding slightly as she turns towards the rest. John Conner meanwhile feels like just right now something more is in the works than he’d bargained for here. Something coming down the pike here . . .really soon.

The young winged girls had a look there for a second that…

Anyway.

The newest sister returns to looking around thus her gaze then falls upon an older gentleman with the rank of Brigadier General (as it is found in certain kinds of armed forces from the United Kingdom) and his merry bunch, and then over at the one known as Aslan and the humans who’d associated with him over the years over in Narnia.

Despite their relationshiop, they look rather . . .put off by the pile of weaponry that Aslan had made everyone else NOT from "around here" divest themselves of for this rather tense truce before beginning.

Oh, there's going to be a story in this, some of them think to themselves!

Tabitha

”I go by the name of Tabitha,” I begin, not sure exactly of what would be a proper way to give this impromptu briefing/meet and greet/mission brief.

I pause slightly, remembering how bemused my elder sisters had been upon my eagerly taking up that name since it had only been made in jest.

Seems that despite “Tabitha” was not only the name of a character from a somewhat popular pre-Second Impact American television show (called “Bewitched”), it also happened to be the name of one of the many “Rei Ayanami Expy” running around in fiction in worlds where the lives of my sister (and myself now in a round about fashion). It had been made only in jest and surprised my sister greatly when I latched onto it and took it as my own new, and permanent identity; a break from the old to celebrate the new.

My borrowed memories from my dear sister Yukido says I should do it at attention, in a military manner proper to as what she had as growing up as the First Child in the bosom of NERV (a paramilitary organization with a nebulous and dark agenda). After all, I stand within the presence of senior officers from the United Nation (albeit one from a different time stream) and as such protocol would demand it.

I refuse to do that, however. First, I never actually got to join (or get press-ganged) into NERV beyond a source of genetic material for building the EVA units and such. They had my old body strung up on a cross down In the lower bowels, for God’s sake; hardly a way to show you are a welcome member of the organization, you know!

Now, as a human girl? No. I am a civilian and as such am exempt from such requirements (if such could even be applied in such a odd situation as this). As such, I have license to give this next part in a somewhat less than military manner.

  1. ”Some here already had encounters with either my family members here or others from my . . .”
