Without having had any practice. Andrea found it hard in total darkness to envision herself wearing suitable clothes. She decided that trying to visualise herself wearing underwear as well as outer garments would be too ambitious for her first attempt. In that case she had better opt for shorts rather than for a very short skirt or a slit skirt, as there would be a risk of exposing too much with a sudden movement or a gust of wind. She would try to make her garments black, as that seemed as though it would be simplest.
She concentrated on imagining herself wearing shorts. As she did so, there was a pulsing sensation from the tattoo on her forehead. Could she somehow be communicating her wishes to the Room through it? She was pleased when suddenly she felt material next to her skin. She hadn't attempted to imagine any particular material - she had no idea how one would do that - and it felt rather strange against her skin. Also the shorts which she had conjured up seemed awfully tight-fitting. But she could feel that they covered the desired area, so they would surely do. Next she imagined herself wearing a sleeveless top similar to a modern-day teeshirt. Again she was successful, but again the garment seemed awfully tight and felt rather strange - very smooth and almost slippery - against her skin. As before, when she had finished she had to wait for Nekarb to open the door for her from outside. She stumbled out, blinking in the light, and turned to face the full-length mirror.[94845] As her vision cleared, she gasped. Her black shorts and top covered precisely the areas that she had intended, and left her three markings exposed as she had been instructed. But the garments were made of some shiny, thin and amazingly flexible material, like nothing she had ever encountered before. And they were so tight-fitting that they showed every curve, even her nipples being obvious. "Very nice, lass," Nekarb said. "That's very good for a first attempt. You've even managed to avoid leaving a gap between the shorts and the top." "But this material..." Andrea protested. "It's not at all what I was expecting. And I forgot shoes. Can I try again?"
