Urnath Explains.....

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 9759

"Her name used to be Frederigo D'Honaire.....and her version of Belboz the Necromancer has altered her Matrix," the unicorn male in human form says quietly.

The room goes quiet as the others just stare at the unicorn.

Finally, the formerly named Fred, now Joan, speaks.

She feels the flush of heat upon her face and notes absently that the others probably don't notice it because of her dusky complexion.

"I was getting to that....." Joan says quietly. "And yes, my name used to be Fred...... but for some reason I find the name Joan seems to fit me better, now. Why, I can't say."

What Hannah says next pretty much sums up what the others are feeling right at this moment about this.

"But.....wha....." Hannah stutters innocently (still somewhat put off by the violence she's seen, but not as much as she feels she'd be usually for some reason). She felt that somehow she should have been horrified at the violence she'd seen, but at the same time it seemed natural and normal to just accept this as being......reality.

Ah, my love, I shall explain to you and the humans right now, Urnath said to Hannah's mind as he again looked soulfully into her eyes. It has something to do with you and I, also. So brace yourself.

Hannah only nodded, shiver slightly in delight as her love's soul brushed her tenderly.

My Belboz never......touched me so lovingly as this sweet dear! she thinks to herself before settling her mind back to what Urnath has to say.

"As you may have guessed from the little snippets of detail that I and our lovely dancer have given," Urnath says in a quiet voice, "Joan here was under a magical compulsion to dance. A rather simple but still dangerous magic, for if not removed soon the price one pays when the curse is lifted would be severe."

One of the Astras whispers quiet instructions to Joan as the men turn their head to give the woman a bit of privacy as the unicorn continued.

"The longer she danced.....the more fatigue would build up but be held at bay by the curse," the unicorn continued, "If too much fatigue built up, then without care, the sudden removal of the curse would have caused the fatigue to hit her all at once. Basically, she'd die from sleep deprivation and such."

"That other Belboz.....wasn't a nice person," Hannah says softly, sickened.

"That's why I broke her spell quickly, for I knew that she wasn't at that point yet.....but the sooner the better," Urnath said, "The method I used.....which any unicorn can do by instinct, was a broad based approach that.....backfired on me. Why there was a phantom image of a simpler transformation spell upon her I don't know, but my spell also tried to break it......only to run into the fact that it reacted with whatever leftover residue had altered her Matrix....."

  1. "Uh, pardon," one of the Freds interrupts, "But what is the Matrix? One mad hermit I spoke with said it was something called a movie....but while I don't know what the He....Heck a movie is......"
