Having come to a stop at the base of the tower, the oasis gave no indication that it would resume moving again any time soon. "It seems that we have a choice of heading off into the desert and almost certain death, or of entering the Staircase Tower," Fred said. "If we try to just stay here in the oasis, then if the legends are to be believed we'll soon find ourselves inside the tower anyway."

"It's not an easy decision to make," Astra replied. Fred nodded in agreement.

  1. They abandon the oasis and head off into the desert.
  2. Bravely - or perhaps rashly - they enter the tower. (Entering it is no problem. Leaving it again might be another matter.)
  3. They are already close enough to feel the influence of the Gods of Chaos. While they are trying to decide what to do, Astra's hair turns blue and her breasts double in size, while Fred acquires a large tattoo of Popeye on his bare [235] chest.
